Peter Alexander

I am a Licensed Counselling Therapist–Candidate who works with youth and adults aged 16 and older, as well as couples. I support people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation difficulties, neurodivergence, relationship concerns, life transitions, identity concerns, and feelings of disconnection or uncertainty.

My approach is calm, sincere, and collaborative. I aim to create an environment where people feel respected and understood and can speak openly about their experiences.

My work is grounded in person-centred, trauma-informed, and meaning-focused therapy. Depending on the needs of each client, I may draw from existential and meaning-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Jungian and psychodynamic perspectives, narrative therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and attachment-based approaches.

When working with couples, I help partners better understand their relationship patterns, improve communication, work through conflict, and strengthen emotional connection. I believe therapy should be practical, genuine, and tailored to the individual or couple.

I hold a Master of Education in Counselling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Brunswick. I have also completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). I am registered with and governed by the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick and am a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). My Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation is currently pending.

I am currently accepting new clients for both in-person and virtual counselling. Please contact admin@mciwellness.com with any questions or to schedule an intake appointment.
